Happy Diwali!

Welcome back to school! Our project this term is 'What a Celebration!' and to launch it, we have been learning about and celebrating Diwali! Diwali is an important religious festival that originates from India and it is also known as the Festival of Light. It lasts for 5 days and this year it started on Sunday 27th October. It celebrates good over evil and light over dark. We learned about the story of Rama and Sita which is all about Prince Rama and his beautiful wife Sita defeating the evil demon king Ravana! We also took part in lots of different activities... We just can't wait for our diva lamps to dry so that we can paint and decorate them with lots of glitter!

Autumn Walk to Wyndham Park

Today, we went to Wyndham Park looking for signs of Autumn! We saw a mixture of orange, brown, yellow and red leaves falling from the trees, red berries, pine cones, chestnuts, fungi and more!

Happy Harvest!

We've been very busy over the past couple of weeks learning all about Harvest and taking part in lots of different Harvest themed activities! We especially loved painting pictures of our favourite fruits and vegetables and also our visit to the Grantham Foodbank! Thank you so much to everyone that came to our Harvest Festival - we enjoyed performing it so much! A big thank you for all of the food that you have donated too and congratulations to the winner of the Harrowby Harvest Hamper!

Welcome Back!!!

We hope you've all had a lovely summer break but now we're back, we are ready for a busy and exciting term! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the home learning project - we've really enjoyed getting to know each other a little better over the past couple of weeks! At the moment, we're busy preparing for our Harvest Festival so watch this space...

A few little things:

- P.E is on a Monday and Wednesday so please ensure your child has the correct kit and isn't wearing any jewellery.

- The children are encouraged to change their own reading books each morning on the way into the classroom and as often as they need to.

- Show & Tell will usually take place on a Friday however it is not always possible due to other events and happenings in and around the school. If your child wishes to bring something in for Show & Tell, please make sure it is named.

That's it for now but please keep an eye on this page as it will be updated throughout the year! Thank you!
